I got this to replace a rather cheap one I got before this, cheap in quality I mean. Even with the lower quality backboard and weak plastic hoop, it lasted years and I expect that this will last much much longer than that as it is a higher quality product. This uses metal clips to hold it to the door and a metal ring, the backboard feels like acrylic or polycarbonate but I admit that I don't know which one yet but acrylic would scratch easier as it is much softer. It could even be glass as there was some heft to it, though I doubt that it is glass right now. It does come with stickers for the backboard for favorite team, and while I like basketball, my kids just like making shots and don't have a favorite team yet so they just plastered the images of ones they liked on their backboard. The ball that comes with it is only slightly higher quality than the previous one, mostly better color and slightly better grip, but that is more that the last one had a good ball to go with the door hoop. It also comes with the pump to maintain the ball's pressure and initial inflation. Also forgot to mention, there are springs in the hoop which give a bit of a satisfying dunk feel. Overall, I am happy and my kids are happy I replaced their broken one. (Clips holding the old one to the door broke when it wasn't hanging right and the door was closed.)
